Awarded 1st Place at the Delaware Valley Green Building Council International Sustainable Design Competition • Work Published in Philadelphia Weekly’s “Good Fences.”
2010 • 304,120 sf Ground-up Kensington Creative and Performing Arts High School on N. Front St, Philadelphia, PA (SP/SD/DD). • Designed a transit-oriented plan to rehabilitate a 7-acre post-industrial brownfield situated between racially divided neighborhoods.
Showcased building management systems as teaching tools to reveal the school’s real-time resource consumption which encourages students to look for ways to save water and energy.
Proposed a community-built school constructed from recycled industrial materials integrating urban agriculture, stormwater wetlands, and learning outdoors.
2010 • 740,520 sf thesis on Multicultural School & Urban Designs in Putrajaya, Malaysia (SD/DD) • Drew from the heterogeneous spaces of Kuala Lumpur and deconstructed spaces of everyday life through mappings, collaged drawings, and the derive – a 1950s Situationist guide to “walking in the city”.
Addressed contemporary issues of segregation in Malaysian national schools and proposed an integrated schooling system with courtyards and open building systems, imagined as a microcosm of the city • Redefined schooling through the act of eating, buying, bargaining, playing, learning, and walking by drawing different cultures together • Awarded Diener Brick Thesis Award (2010), Temple University Alumni Thesis Award (2010), Work Exhibited at AIA, Center for Architecture (2010) and Creative, Arts, Research and Travel Grant (CARAS) (2009).
2018 • Park in Mt. Rainier, MD (CD). • Revitalized vacant lot with designs of an urban park commissioned by Mt. Rainier’s director of development.
2019 • 10,890 sf New Brooklyn Farms urban farming in Prince George County, MD (SP, DD) • Proposed urban farm site plans, conceptualize high tunnel greenhouse location in collaboration with Farmer-In-Residence program, public plaza for community activities (i.e. Yoga and “green entrepreneurship”) • Petitioned the mayor to allow urban farming land use and the City Council legislated Zoning Ordinance CR-17-2019 & CB-14-2019 in the Gateway Arts District of Prince George County, MD.
